The last month or so has been as busy as it has been lazy. I’ve gotten very behind on updates, which made me not want to post at all. So today’s special is a bunch of random shit I haven’t posted about yet.

The biggest contributor to my laziness is this guy right here. He’s also been a major source of adventures. We know we don’t have much time left, so we’ve been going on all sorts of adventures while he still has the energy. And when we’re home, I have had almost no energy. It took me a couple of weeks to realize that I’m going through an animal hospice depression.
We have been having absolutely stunning weather (until today, of course!). Felix and I took BMO on a walk down to the beach in Almyrida. He was only sort of interested in the beach itself, but he was thrilled with my new favorite thinking spot, which is a cute little rocky cove.

We put him on a long lead and let him go to town.

We also took a drive up into the mountains to look for snow, which he loved in Colorado. We were very minimally successful. There was some on the side of the road, which he only sort of cared about.
In other dog news, the dogs up on the corner, who I refer to as “the neighborhood watch”, got a new puppy! They are very proud of it.

I walked by without BMO for the first time, and they all let me get some snoot pets in!

The goats down by my sourdough dealer’s house had some adorable babies! They are so silly and fun to watch. Grab some still warm bread, stare at baby goats. A fine Thursday morning ritual!

Carnival happened, which was such a silly day. Joshua and I opted to go to the parade close to home. Felix went to the big show in Rethymno, but we wanted to stick close with BMO not doing great. It was so wild. Costumes! Wine! Confetti! Streamers! Too many horns and whistles. It was an absolutely great day spent with some wonderful people. I’m looking forward to doing it again next year!

I was thrilled to find the European alternative to my favorite kitchen witchcraft in America, Dawn Powerwash. Crusty old pan your kid didn’t wash when he should have? Powerwash it! Made a despicable mess on the stove while frying shit? Powerwash it!

After a couple months of waiting, it was finally our turn for the builders we hired. Look at this glorious new wardrobe! I had to get almost everything out of our room, so I’m still working on filling and organizing it. Some of my clothes are in Felix’s room. Some are in a suitcase in the storage room. I need more hangers! I also bought some paint samples to try out in here. I’m looking forward to turning it into a cozy retreat.

Paulina asked me if I wanted to join her on a trip to Elafonisi Beach last Friday. I obvs enthusiastically agreed. This beach is famous for its pink sand and gets packed with visitors over the summer. It was in the seventies (F, of course) and pretty breezy, but it was so nice getting to see if for the first time with very few people there. We had such a fun day exploring.

It was even warmer the next day, and Joshua and I made our first joint trip to the beach, where we were lucky enough to see this! I’m pretty sure this horse’s name is Valentina.

Speaking of horses, this one was pretty happy to say hi to BMO. BMO didn’t know what to think of such a creature. He did some barks, but the horse didn’t mind!

Bobbi says hi!

I was running errands on Monday and popped into a thrift shop. I didn’t buy anything, but I did get to pet these two sleeping kitties!

Last night Felix and I were joined by this cutie at dinner.

And we saw this glorious graffiti on our walk back to the car.

When life gives Gabi lemons, she drops them off at my house. This is my project for today.
Felix and I are heading to Chania to go to karaoke tonight. It’s his 19th (!!!) birthday tomorrow, so I said we could go. It is cold and windy and dreary, so I’m not exactly excited about going out.
We have four confirmed instances of visitors coming this year, and I’m very excited to show our friends what our life is like here!
