Ya’ll this is what the hill behind my house looked like last night at 10:30 pm. The moon was so bright that it almost looked like some sort of weird twilight day time. It rained yesterday. Like really rained for the first time since we got here (excluding a quick thunderstorm after we’d been here for a week or so).

Nice lake, right?! Wrong! It’s the parking area in Almyrida. The whole area was submerged. I didn’t want to have wet feet, so we chose to walk on the beach instead. Turns out the parking area lake was draining to the sea via a fun little pop up stream that some kind soul put a bridge over.

Felix and I walked down to Almyrida for dinner. It was definitely an adventure getting there! I took Felix on my new walking route, and we had such a fun time looking at the old buildings of Plaka together. He was even a good sport about posing for pictures.

He’s doing what he referred to as a “Hank Hill” here. Haha!

He couldn’t decide what pizza he wanted so I told him to get two. We were supposed to bring Joshua dinner anyway, so he could have the leftovers. It wasn’t super busy due to the rain, so we got a romantic water front table.

After dinner we went and hung out on the rocks by the ocean to enjoy the steamy wet air. The humidity was so high we practically had to swim through the air to get there! Then we went out for gelato and got a taxi back up the hill. I was not in the mood to fight gravity for a mile of steep incline.

Yesterday morning Joshua and I went to meet up with some people to look at buying their scooter (Linda from art night!), and they had banana and guava trees and live in an avocado grove! It felt like entering an enchanted forest. I was gifted many ripe guavas and go to pick bananas right off the tree! We’ll see if they ripen up in a bag or not. Either way, I’ve gotten to pick bananas off a tree?! That’s pretty cool!

The avocados were not ready yet, otherwise they would have shared those too! And yes, we are buying the scooter. I would like to start a scooter gang if anyone is interested.
This feels like it’s been a quiet week with nothing really going on, but at the same time today felt like the first day where I could really just sit around and relax. We didn’t have water again for a bit this week, and I was able to take a most satisfying shower today. Between Felix and I working in shifts, we are almost caught back up on dishes!
