Ya’ll see that beautiful sunset view?

How about this one that looks like me not being scared of a nuclear explosion?

Or maybe this one that my husband is not even looking at while he’s on a work meeting?
Well they’re all mine baby! That’s right, yesterday the papers were signed, and we own this mother fucking porch. There has been much drama about getting this done, mostly due to the guy who owns this land/building (except for now our apartment and a percentage of the land) until all four owners sign. I got tons of hot goss and first hand knowledge of shenanigans and unsavory actions that I will probably save until after he’s out of the country. Or maybe I’ll just want to forget about him forever? We’ll see!
But anyway. I can’t even tell you how relieved I am to know that this place is officially ours after almost 16 months of being under contract. I honestly wasn’t even sure it was going to happen. I was going to buy a bottle of something bubbly to celebrate but held off in case I jinxed it. That’s how unsure I was. The home buying experience is so much different here than it is in the United States, but of course, we somehow ended up with the extra special extended version of the process.

We have a couch now that does not suck and has room for the whole family. We also have a kitchen table that is not a tiny table meant for the outdoors (yes, that is what was left for us to use!). Also that tv is broken and will be removed shortly. It was decided that the couch should face the sea view and not a boring wall.

Look, you can see it here in this photo I took of Joshua being very very excited about us owning a vacuum cleaner. Ma Nature is constantly throwing debris in through the unscreened doors (she’s also sending in her strongest and most terrible warriors, mosquitos), and BMO loves to track in dirt and grass. There is no hiding of sins on these light colored tiles, my friends. Ask me about the time Joshua dropped a can of ginger ale in the kitchen. Actually don’t ask me, ask the ants that took me a week to get rid of. You will have to use your ouija board or take a quick trip to hell though because that’s where I sent them.
It’s finally starting to feel like home around here. I have a well stocked spice cabinet, most of the cookware I need if I get creative, and BMO even has his own bed here now.

It’s so weird to me what things are cheap and what things are expensive here. A dog bed? EXPENSIVE. A TV? Prettty cheap. I honestly haven’t even missed having a tv. I think I’ve watched maybe a couple hours of programs on my tablet since we arrived, but I’m sure we’ll end up with one soon anyway.
Ok, well I have been a deadbeat housewife and have not actually made dinner in like maybe four days. In my defense, I wasn’t home for one night, and I haven’t felt great for a couple nights. Regardless, it’s time for me to make a real dinner for my family to eat at my real table.
I am so excited to be able to say that we OWN OUR HOUSE HERE NOW. I’m also excited to have learned that the rest of our stuff is finally on a ship that is sailing our way!
